The head of the National Dialogue Party, Mr. Fouad Makhzoumi, called on the Lebanese Parliament to pass a law reducing the legal voting age to 18 in the upcoming municipal elections. Mr. Makhzoumi also called on civil society to exert pressure on the government to hold the said elections on time, complete administrative nominations and pass the 2010 budget law.

Mr. Makhzoumi made his comments following a meeting with Mr. Salim El-Hoss at his home in Aisha Bakkar. Mr. Makhzoumi commented that Mr. El-Hoss had never lost his bearings when it came to internal politics or the plight of the Palestinians.
